About Liverpool Maritime Graduates Masters Asssociation

On 8th December 2004, a group of former students of the maritime school of what is now Liverpool John Moores University met in London and founded Liverpool Maritime Graduates & Masters Association.

LMGMA was established on the basis of two principal objectives;

1) To establish a network of former and current students, for social and business purposes, that members enjoy being part of.

2) To provide current students with access to all sectors of the maritime industry.

At the very outset, all founding members agreed that LMGMA should be as inclusive as possible and that it would value senior sea-going qualifications as highly as academic qualifications. Therefore, membership of LMGMA is open to all current students and all former students that have successfully completed a HND, undergraduate or postgraduate maritime or related programme at LJMU or its predecessor colleges, or a Department of Transport Master Mariner course of 6 months or more.

LMGMA members reach right across the maritime industry, working around the world at all levels in its many varied sectors.

Whether you are a newcomer to the world of shipping or it has provided you with a lifelong career, LMGMA is a hugely enjoyable and interesting Association to be part of and I cordially invite you to join us.
